How it works

CA Property Lookup makes it easy to find the owner of a California home or parcel in four simple steps.

Step 1

Enter an address

Type any California street address, city, or ZIP into the search bar. The tool accepts full addresses, partial streets, and location names.

Step 2

Query live records

The lookup sends your query to RentCast and other public property-record sources in real time, pulling the latest assessor and recorder data.

Step 3

Get property details

Results include the current owner name, mailing address, parcel ID (APN), property type, square footage, year built, and last sale information.

Step 4

Privacy-safe data

Only publicly available ownership and assessment data is shown. No sensitive personal information, credit data, or non-public records are returned.

Where the data comes from

Owner names, sale history, and parcel details are sourced from public county assessor and recorder records aggregated by RentCast. Coverage varies by county and is updated as counties publish new records.
